Childhood Cancer Initiative - Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital Children’s Library.

This is a very small library located inside the Kisumu hospital. This project was initiated by the hospital director. The main users are children undergoing various treatment including cancer. The library basically consists of a wood cabinet which contains no more than 100 books. They could really use more books which would benefit many children.

This library initiative is recent and the hospital administration is quite supportive of the efforts to strengthen the library services.

SUPPORT PROVIDED BY ATS We were not able to donate books since the library book cabinet was locked and therefore unaccessible. We were told this was a temporary situation. We hope to go back and donate some children educational books.
